Linux & Docker

Technical solutions for smaller environments.

I help with practical Linux, Docker, self-hosted services, and smaller infrastructure setups. This is not 24/7 enterprise management, but concrete help with a clearly agreed scope.

Areas

How I can help

Pricing depends on scope and the technical condition of the environment. The first step is a short description of the current state, goal, and safely available access.

Docker application deployment

Containerising or deploying a smaller application with considered ports, environment variables, storage, and a basic restore path.

Small Linux server setup

Practical initial setup, updates, users, SSH, firewall, and basic operating habits for home or small work environments.

Application or service migration

Moving an existing service into a cleaner environment with checks for data, configuration, domain, and rollback path.

Basic backups and restore

A simple backup approach for important data and verification that restore is not only a note in documentation.

Monitoring and diagnostics

A basic view of metrics, logs, availability, and causes of repeated errors without introducing an unnecessarily heavy system.

Secure remote access

SSH or safer network access configured according to need, without exchanging passwords through insecure channels.

Self-hosted services

Deploying smaller services for own data or workflows when self-hosting makes practical sense.

Maintenance planning

An understandable list of what should be checked, updated, and backed up regularly so the system does not depend only on memory.

Technical background

Yggdrasil as a practical test environment

I use my own low-power Yggdrasil lab for learning, development, and testing smaller Linux/Docker scenarios: service deployment, monitoring, backups, networking, updates, and recovery after failure. It is an internal environment for practical testing, not a claim of enterprise operations or 24/7 support.

Technical enquiry

Tell me what runs and what should work better

Include the operating system, where the service runs, whether Docker is used, what should change, and known constraints.

Send an email

Briefly describe the goal, scope, and current state. I will reply with follow-up questions or an outline of next steps.
