Privacy policy
In short: both location and optional diagnostics stay entirely on your phone. Nothing is ever sent by itself.
Operator
The Máni app is developed and operated by Stanislav Hambalko, operating under the name MidgardNet. Contact: [email protected].
Location
Máni uses the device's location (GPS, or a manually entered coordinate or city) solely to calculate astronomical data for that place — for example when the Sun rises, or where the planets are currently visible. Location is processed entirely on the phone and never leaves the device. The app has no server of its own, or anywhere else it could be sent to.
Diagnostics (optional, off by default)
If you turn on diagnostics in the app's settings, the app saves technical crash details right on your phone. Nothing is sent anywhere automatically. If you want to share this data (for example with the developer), you do so entirely yourself via Android's own share dialog — the app itself never receives or sees this data unless you send it through some other channel yourself (such as email).
City search
The offline city search used when setting your location uses a dataset from GeoNames.org (CC BY 4.0 license), bundled directly in the app. What you type is never sent anywhere; the search runs entirely on the phone.
No accounts, no ads, no analytics
Máni requires no registration or sign-in, and contains no ads or third-party tracking or analytics tools.
Third-party libraries used
The app uses the open-source Capacitor libraries (Apache 2.0 license) to work with native phone features — location, sharing, and notifications. None of them send data anywhere beyond the features you yourself turn on.
Notifications
Reminders for astronomical events are scheduled and shown directly on the phone via the operating system's own notifications. No external push-notification service is used.
Children
The app is not specifically directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from children.
Your rights
Since the app never sends or stores personal data anywhere beyond your own phone, there is nothing on our end to correct or delete. If you've emailed us, you can request deletion of that communication at any time at [email protected]. If you believe your data has been processed in violation of the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Slovak Data Protection Authority (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky, dataprotection.gov.sk).

If how the app handles data ever changes, this page will be updated before that change takes effect.
